It’s not easy to follow all new features released in Teams. Microsoft announces and releases multiple new features each month. April was dominated by the mighty one feature – Shared Channels, but it wasn’t the only one. New features appeared on the roadmap, some became available in Public Preview, and many were released to all users. Let’s go for a quick review.
Share the system audio from meetings on the web
Web users can now include audio when sharing content. This is especially useful when you need to share a video or an app with sound effects.
Presenter mode: Controls to move and resize presenter video
The next enhancement to the Presenter mode. Now you can move between the left and right sides of the content and resize the video feed.
Detect Music Automatically
Teams can detect non-speech signals and considers them as noise. You don’t need to have a microphone with built-in noise suppression to get this function. The latest update introduced a music detector. When Teams detect music, it gives you the choice to suppress music or make it available for everyone. This is only available for EDU customers at this time.
Power Automate templates to be added to teams templates
Selected templates from Microsoft will include a Power Automate tab with flow templates dedicated to the template you selected.
Chat filter for non-meeting chats
Tired of searching your Chat window? The Chat filter option will let you quickly filter out meeting chats and chats with bots.
Automation templates in the Teams app store
A new “Workflows” category will be added to the Teams app store. You will find here Power Automate templates ready to use together with Teams.
Co-organizer Meeting Role
Organizers will now be able to share control by assigning the new “Co-organizer” role to people they invited. The role will give you more control over larger meetings or meetings created for others.
and much more
As usual, there are more new and upcoming features in almost every category (Meetings, Calling, Devices, Chats & Collaboration, Management, etc.).
