What’s new in Teams – April 2022
It’s not easy to follow all new features released in Teams. Microsoft announces and releases multiple new features each month. April was dominated by the mighty one feature – Shared Channels, but it wasn’t the only one. New features appeared on the roadmap, some became available in Public Preview, and many were released to all users. Let’s go for a quick review.
How to start with Teams Shared Channels
One of the most important features has just landed in the Preview mode in Teams – Shared Channels. You can invite your colleagues or people from external organizations directly into a Teams channel. No more dedicated Teams or shared SharePoint folders, and no more switching organizations!
In this post, I will show you how to configure the required features and start to play with Shared Channels.
Microsoft Whiteboard – latest updates
Whiteboard is a fantastic tool for Teams meetings. You can use it for sketching, creating meeting notes, prototyping, gathering requirements, planning a sprint, etc.. All with an intuitive interface and coauthoring. Today I want to show you some latest updates that will make your work easier.
Configure SharePoint as a content for Viva Learning
With Viva Learning you can enhance employees’ learning process. All learning resources become available directly through the Viva Learning app in Teams. Microsoft provides 3 data sources (LinkedIn Learning, Microsoft Learn, and Microsoft 365 Training). You can add 3rd party data sources (for example, Udemy, Pluralsight, edX) or use your existing learning files to create your learning data source. Viva Learning uses the SharePoint site as a data source for this purpose. Let’s go and configure it!
What’s new in Microsoft Teams – February 2022
Short update from Microsoft Teams roadmap. Some interesting features are coming soon to Teams or even rolling out right now. This time Approval app got some attention from Microsoft, chats got small enhancements, and much more!
Quick overview of Microsoft Loop in Teams
Microsoft Loop is a new Office app that is going to change how we work. It’ll provide a set of new components to many existing services (e.g., Teams, SharePoint). Last year Microsoft announced it during Ignite 2021 Fall edition and released the first set of components to Teams. I checked them 2 months ago but now I have more time to play with them and show you how you can use them in Teams.
How to manage the expiration of a meeting recording
Microsoft released a new feature for meeting recordings – recording expiration. Every recording has a default expiration date and will be automatically deleted after that date. The date can be managed by your Teams Administrator, but you can override it anytime. In this article I will how you can access settings and work with them.
Festive Tech Calendar 2021 – Build good habits with Viva Insights
End of the year is coming. Many projects must be finished before the next year. Back-to-back meetings, multitasking, no time to rest from a job… I know, but the next year will be different… STOP! Bad habits never change if we do nothing. January won’t change it!
There is a tool in Microsoft Teams that can help you with the task. Microsoft Viva Insights. It is a tool that we can use to analyze our work behavior, find toxic patterns, and build good habits. Personal Insights are a personalized information and recommendation about your work. In this app you can plan your time, block time for focus time, analyze your mood, and much more.
