One of the most important features has just landed in the Preview mode in Teams – Shared Channels. You can invite your colleagues or people from external organizations directly into a Teams channel. No more dedicated Teams or shared SharePoint folders, and no more switching organizations!
In this post, I will show you how to configure the required features and start to play with Shared Channels.

With Viva Learning you can enhance employees’ learning process. All learning resources become available directly through the Viva Learning app in Teams. Microsoft Loop is a new Office app that is going to change how we work. It’ll provide a set of new components to many existing services (e.g., Teams, SharePoint). Last year Microsoft announced it during Ignite 2021 Fall edition and released the first set of components to Teams. I checked them 2 months ago but now I have more time to play with them and show you how you can use them in Teams.
Microsoft released a new feature for meeting recordings – recording expiration. Every recording has a default expiration date and will be automatically deleted after that date. The date can be managed by your Teams Administrator, but you can override it anytime. In this article I will how you can access settings and work with them.
End of the year is coming. Many projects must be finished before the next year. Back-to-back meetings, multitasking, no time to rest from a job… I know, but the next year will be different… STOP! Bad habits never change if we do nothing. January won’t change it!
There is a tool in Microsoft Teams that can help you with the task. Microsoft Viva Insights. It is a tool that we can use to analyze our work behavior, find toxic patterns, and build good habits. Microsoft Ignite 2021 Fall edition brought a lot of announcements across Microsoft 365. Microsoft is focusing on remote work and hybrid work scenarios. Teams, SharePoint, and other services are transforming to become ready for the new era of work. With a touch of Virtual Reality, our digital workplaces are going to change to something new, and I hope that it will be easier to use for everyone (not only for tech people).
Viva Learning (free) is now available in Microsoft 365 and Teams. You can quickly configure it and enable it on your tenant. This version allows you to use Microsoft content in learning library. More updates are planned for upcoming weeks.
Let’s go and configure it!
Viva Connections brings us a dedicated app in Teams with our SharePoint Intranet. Microsoft released an upgraded app that provides easier installation together with desktop/mobile experience. The first version, which was released in March 2021, showed a desktop-only experience. Now we can take a look at the mobile side of the Viva Connections.
Let’s take a look at what’s inside the upgraded app:
- Microsoft app ready to use in Teams Store (no more PowerShell). We can also customize it in the Teams Admin Center.
- The app works with mobiles (with Dashboard, Feed, and Resources, more about that later)
- Dashboards that can be extended using SPFx or Adaptive Cards (YES!)
Keep in mind that it is still a Preview version. More features could be available when it’s released. Enable Preview in Teams!
